Attempted thefts

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Sir John Soane's Museum,

Hope you're well.

I'd like to request some information on the number of reported thefts and attempted thefts the Sir John Soane's Museum has had over the past 10 years.

Can you please provide me with a list of the number of thefts and attempted thefts for each year since 2011. Can this also please be broken down into museum property, items from the gift shop and personal belongings from visitors.

Yours faithfully,

Sophie Barker

Sue Palmer, Sir John Soane's Museum

Dear Ms Barker
Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act.

There have been no reported or attempted thefts of Museum property, items from the gift shop or personal belongings of visitors in the past ten years since 2011. A member of staff was dismissed in 2014 for suspected thefts when shop takings were being counted. Procedures for cash handling were subsequently completely overhauled and made more robust.

Yours sincerely
