Independent Police Support Group

Dear Bedfordshire Police,

On 23 May 2016 at 3pm an episode of a "fly on the wall" documentary called "Traffic cops" was shown on "W" TV.

An officer was in trouble having been attacked by four suspects.

There was some concern in the police radio's not working.

1. Can you provide copies of any documents concerning the situation at that time including any debrief regarding radio communication a that time and any remedial action taken?

2. There appeared to be a number of bystanders who did not assist the officer although a taxi driver appeared to assist in detaining one offendor who the officer may have handcuffed.

Can you confirm whether the CPS viewed footage of this incident as the disposal of the case did not appear to accord with the seriousness of the situation where several persons were concerned in a long struggle including determined efforts to release an offendor being detained by the officer? The officer was also kicked in the head at the time.

3. Please provide any document including any debrief regarding this incident anonymised if necessary however; sections of this incident have been published on TV.

4. Please provide details of the actual disposal and offence for which each suspect was charged with.

Yours faithfully,

E. Sewell

Dear Bedfordshire Police,

We are requesting an internal review regarding this request.

The FOI request was made as a result of incidents of public interest which were televised as part of a fly on the wall documentary featuring Bedfordshire police.

It is very unlikely that there is no information recorded regarding the 2 incidents which were highlighted including an assault on a police officer.

We would be grateful if you would review our request.

Yours faithfully,

Independent Police Support Group

Dear Sirs

Thank you for your request for an internal review regarding FOI 2016-01219.

Guidance from the Information Commissioner's Officers on the subject of timings of such a review reads as follows:-

Yes. You should first complain to the authority and ask it to conduct an internal review. For freedom of information complaints we recommend that you do this as soon as possible and within two months of receiving the authority’s final response.

If you wish to review this guidance for yourself please use the link below.
