I apologise for the delay in our response. Your request for information
has been considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I can
confirm that Hertfordshire County Council does hold the information you
have requested. Our response is as follows.

 

1.       Basic salary of operational Area Managers (Commanders) per annum

 

o Development Basic Annual Salary  £54,303, Development Basic hourly
rate £24.79
o Competent A Basic Annual Salary £55,930, Competent A Basic hourly rate
£25.54
o Competent B Basic Annual Salary £59,565, Competent B Basic hourly rate
£27.20

 

2.       Allowances paid to operational Area Managers (Commanders) per
annum

 

o 20% Uplift for Flexi Duty Officer cover, for being on a rota for
operational incident cover. - £10,861 - £11,913
o Continuous Professional Development Payment - £741
o Fringe - £638.40

 

3. Rota pattern for operation duty for operational Area Managers
(Commanders) ie 4 days on 3 days off. Does this consist of primary and
secondary on call arrangements?

 

o 42 hour contact over 5 working days, Monday to Friday and 1 weekend in
every 3 weeks. 
o The rota to work 1 weekend in every 3 weeks is an on call arrangement
and does not consist of a primary or secondary arrangements.

 

4. The value of any vehicle contribution paid per annum

 

o Each individual case will be different according to individual
circumstances, as this will be dependent on tax contributions and
whether the car scheme that applies is business mile only or covers
business miles and private use.

 

5. Number of annual leave days for operational Area Managers (Commanders)
per annum

 

o 37 days, increasing to 40 days following 5 years continuous service
plus public holidays.
