Dear James Cameron,

Our Ref: FOI/685

On 17/02/2020 you made the following request for information, which has
been dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

FOI Re: F&R Service Area Manager terms and conditions

We have now completed a search for the information which you requested and
confirm that this Authority holds data relevant to your request.

The Response to your request is as follows:

1.   Basic salary of operational Area Managers (Commanders) per annum -
£59,565

2.   Allowances paid to operational Area Managers (Commanders) per annum –
Flexi duty allowance - 20% of salary and possibly CPD allowance of £528
per annum, which can be applied for after a year in post.

3.   Rota pattern for operation duty for operational Area Managers
(Commanders) ie 4 days on 3 days off. Does this consist of primary and
secondary on call arrangements?

The total number of managerial hours shall not average more than forty-two
per week. In addition there is an entitlement of 20% flexi duty allowance
which is paid in recognition of providing cover over a 6 week rota
pattern. There is also an entitlement of 6 rota days per reference period
which must be taken during the month that they are allocated.
Arrangements for taking these days will be made in conjunction with the
other Area Managers to ensure continued cover to the Organisation.

4.   No contribution is made due to the fact that the officers are not
allowed to undertake private mileage in the vehicles and are therefore
exempt.

5.   Number of annual leave days for operational Area Managers
(Commanders) per annum - 48 days total
