Response

Questions 1 to 3
Please refer to the attached spreadsheet, and note the caveats to the data
on the results worksheet.  Please note that “HRI” stands for “household
residual income”, which takes into account a disregard.

Question 4
The process for CCG for students enrolled on midwifery programmes is the
same as the process for CCG for students on other Higher Education
courses.

There is a considerable amount of information about CCG, and the process
behind the awards, which is publicly available.  Accordingly, this
information is exempt from disclosure under section 21(1) of the FOIA as
it is considered reasonably accessible to you by other means.

I would refer you to the following webpages and documents:
·        Practitioners’ product webpage -

·        gov.uk - [2]https://www.gov.uk/childcare-grant

students) (available at

·        Dependants’ Grants Finalisation Process 2017/18 (for full-time

Question 5
There is no minimum or maximum income thresholds used in the calculations
for CCG.  The amount of GFD, including CCG, will depend on a student’s
residual household income, which is calculated by deducting the relevant
disregard from their household income.  The disregards are set up in
section 7.3 of the Grants for Dependants (“GFDs”) Guidance Chapter 2017/18
(available at
[11]http://www.practitioners.slc.co.uk/media...).
The Dependants’ Grants - Calculations 2017/18 factsheet (available at
[12]http://www.practitioners.slc.co.uk/media...)
should be of assistance.
