Thank you for your recent request for information which I have enclosed
below for ease of reference. Your request has been treated in accordance
with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and/or the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004.

Can you please let me know if staff working for the Council who have off
work due to being unwell with Covid 19 are subject to the Councils
sickness policy or if, due to the pandemic, the sickness policy has not
been enforced for these staff.

 

I can confirm that we do hold information that falls within the scope of
your request. The answers to your questions have been provided in Red Text
below.

 

The Council has not applied its Management of Attendance Policy for any
absences as a result of COVID19.  The Council has applied the [1]National
Joint Council for Local Government Services Pay and Conditions of Service
in relation to infectious disease, whereby any employee who is prevented
from attending work because of contact with infectious disease shall be
entitled to receive normal pay and the period of absence will not reduce
an employee's sickness entitlement.
