Application of Coronavirus Rules by ethnic origin

The request was partially successful.

Dear Dorset Police,

A report provided in May 2020 showed that in England, people from Black & Ethnic Minority backgrounds are 54% more likely to be fined under coronavirus rules than white people. In addition, those fines were at a higher rate than those for people who are white.
Under the Freedom of Information Act, please could we request the figures for Dorset Police from the on-set of lockdown in March. The total number of fixed penalty notices issued by type/offence, and a breakdown of the subject of these notices by ethnic origin of the recipient/offender.

Yours faithfully,

Tina Thompson

Dear Madam,

Many apologies for the late reply which we finalised today and was ready to be sent. It has now been sent and we hope you have received it.

The request itself was delayed due to some of the staff who supply the information being on leave and an administrative error on my part.

We hope you accept our / my apology

Regards

J Limb
