Dear Ms Charnock
Thank you for your email. Your request has been considered in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
The details you require regarding Dr Kaufman are available on our online register. You can access this via our website by using the link 'Check a doctor's registration status' at the right hand side of the home page (at www.gmc-uk.org). Dr Kaufman's GMC reference number is 2428415. Once on his record you need to select 'doctor history'. You can then access details of the doctor's public hearings.
As the information you’ve asked for is already publically available, there’s an exemption under the FOIA which applies. Section 21 of the FOIA applies where the information is already reasonably accessible to the requester. As set out above, details of the doctor's MPTS hearings are available via our website.
Even though I’ve provided you with details of where to find the information, I still need to mention that you can appeal my decision to apply the above exemption. If you would like to do so, please set out your reasons and write to Julian Graves, Information Access Manager, at [email address]. You can also appeal to the Information Commissioner, the regulator of the FOIA and DPA – we can provide more details about this if you need them.
If you have any further queries regarding this request please contact me.
Yours sincerely
Elizabeth Hiley
