Amount of funds spent on UK government social media advertisements

Her Majesty's Treasury Nid oedd gan y wybodaeth y gofynnwyd amdani.

Dear Her Majesty's Treasury,

How much public money is spent and/or allocated by the government to be spent on the UK government's social media advertising? An example of such an advert would be the current UK government sponsored posts on Facebook about the pandemic.

If possible, please provide a yearly and monthly breakdown on how much money is spent by the government on the major social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter etc., the source of those monies, and the official purposes for approving those expenditures.

Please also provide details of any kind of 'humanitarian' discount or deal offered or made with social media platforms in relation to the current pandemic, for example a lesser rate of advertising costs because of the severity of the situation.

Yours faithfully,

James
