Amey service deductions for 2016/17

The request was successful.

Dear Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council,

Trafford Council recently imposed service deductions/fines against Amey Plc in relation to service levels and KPI's. The total fines exceeded £1 million in total.

My FOI relates to:

1. Has the full payment been received Amey, if not what payment has been made to date and when will the remaining payments be made.?
2. Will the total amount received from the fines be ring fenced for highways and waste management..?
3. What is the spending plan/budget for how the total amount of money will be reinvested..?
4. What consultation process will be undertaken to ensure local residents are aware of your plans to reinvest the £1 million pounds and to gain feedback and comments ahead of you implementing plans..?

Yours faithfully,

Dr kevin parker

Ward, Jennie, Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Mr Parker

Further to your Freedom of Information request, please see below:

1. Has the full payment been received Amey, if not what payment has been
made to date and when will the remaining payments be made.?

The subject of your FOI refers to 2016/17 and the total deductions for
2016/17 are £153,245 as previously communicated to you.   This has been
received in full.

The deductions published on the Council's website for 2017/18 total
£914,012 and to date £570k has been received with the remainder expected
before the end of March.

2. Will the total amount received from the fines be ring fenced for
highways and waste management..?

The 2016/17 deductions are allocated to an environmental project – namely
the expansion of the trio bin programme across all parks which will
modernise and improve waste collection across the parks areas as well as
increase focus on recycling targets. The 2017/18 amount has been allocated
to increase the Council's capital spending programme for highways -
including for structural maintenance and residents parking schemes.

3. What is the spending plan/budget for how the total amount of money will
be reinvested..? Please see response to Q2 and Q4.

4. What consultation process will be undertaken to ensure local residents
are aware of your plans to reinvest the £1 million pounds and to gain
feedback and comments ahead of you implementing plans..?

The Council's capital programme was approved by Council on 20th February
2019 and is published on the council's website.  Residents parking schemes
also require a separate consultation and approval process on a scheme by
scheme basis.
