Dear West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

I am wishing to enquire about the requirements for your Emergency Responders to have carried out Emergency Response Driver Training.

Could you please list which qualifications you deem as acceptable?

How long is the period from initial testing to re-testing/requalification?

Do you require your drivers to undergo regular testing to ensure standards?

In regards to transfers from SWAS to WMAS in the last twelve months, can you confirm the personnel held a Futurequals Driver qualification? For those that didn't, how long was their conversion course so as to be acceptable for WMAS?
Were they suspended from driving until completion of the WMAS Driver Training Course?

Does WMAS accept in-house training certification in regards to Driver Training?

Yours faithfully,

Matthew Hamilton
