Allocation of Funds by Big Local

Boston Borough Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Boston Borough Council,

As a continuation of a previous FOI request I've made, I'd like to request detailed information on the allocation of funds issued by the government's Big Local scheme.

I would like to know:

1: How much funding has been issued per year since Big Local was established in Boston.

2: Exactly what Big Local funding has been spent on and how much of it.

3: Which members of the community or council were involved in the allocation of funds.

Yours faithfully,

Mr H Parkhill

FOI, Boston Borough Council

Good afternoon

Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act, dated the 16 April 2015.

This is to inform you that your request has been received and the Council
is endeavouring to respond as promptly and fully as possible.  You will
receive the Council’s response by the 15 May 2015 at the latest.  Please
quote reference FOI 046-15-16 in any future correspondence.

The Council’s policy is to carry out the spirit and requirements of the
Freedom of Information Act in a manner which:

Recognises the duty to inform as the essential principle underlying the
legislation; discloses to requesters the maximum information possible
which is not injurious to the public and private interests identified in
the exemptions in the Act and does so in the most timely and consistent
manner given the nature and scope of the request; ensures that fees
permitted under the Act are kept to an absolute minimum whilst
safeguarding our position as a non profit making repayment department. The
Freedom of Information Act can be found here:
[1]www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts2000/20000036.htm

The Council endeavours to respond in kind unless you request the
information in another format. In some circumstances a fee may be payable
and if that is the case, we will let you know. A fees notice will be
issued to you, and you will be required to pay before we can proceed to
deal with your request.

Please contact us if these conditions are unacceptable or you require
further advice or assistance with your information needs.

Many thanks

FOI, Boston Borough Council

For the attention of Harry Parkhill

Good morning

Further to our telephone conversation yesterday as promised I looked into your query regarding Freedom of Information Request F046-15-16.

I have established that as Boston Borough Council is not involved in the governance it is not information for us to supply; the fact that it may have subsequently been published elsewhere is an irrelevance to your FOI request.

The Chairman of Big Boston Local is Richard Tory and can be contacted at www.bostonbiglocal.co.uk

FOI, Boston Borough Council

Good morning

In response to your telephone query regarding the Big Local funding pot on
1 October 2015.

Boston Borough Council has no involvement in the governance of the Big
Local funding pot for Boston and are therefore unable to provide the
information that has been requested.

Boston Big Local is administered by a local residents panel which has been
set up to consult with people who live and work in the defined Boston Big
Local Area.  After extensive consultation the panel developed 4 key themes
and working in partnership with local agencies, organisations and
community groups commissioned a number of projects which contributed to
the 4 key themes.

The article in the Standard from Wednesday 30^th September 2015 outlined a
number of projects and schemes which Boston Borough Council were
commissioned to deliver on behalf of Boston Big Local.  Boston Borough
Council did not contribute to the decision making process for which they
were allocated funds.

Should you require further information about Boston Big Local please
forward your request to:
