Algorithm design for Welsh A Level and GCSE results 2020
Dear Qualifications Wales,
Please could you disclose to me the algorithm design specification that was used to develop the software that designed to award A Level and GCSE grades this year?
Please disclose the design documentation, including the associated Equality Impact Assessment - in what ever form it takes - that would necessarily have been written and created before starting software development.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request received today. Please note that Qualifications Wales do not hold the specification designs for the algorithms. These were developed and applied by WJEC. Our approval of the standardisation models used in the award of A-Level grades was against criteria that we had published and was based on evidential data presented by the WJEC on the different model options available.
The methods reports published by the WJEC present a summary of how grades were calculated:

We can however provide information on equalities impact assessments undertaken by Qualifications Wales. We will respond to this request within 20 working days.
