Freedom of Information, Scottish Borders Council

Dear Gus Frings

Further to your request for information under the Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002 relating to the above I am now able to respond. Please
accept the Council’s apologies for the delay in responding to your
request.

The following response was prepared and provided on behalf of Social Work
& Practice

1) The number of agency social workers used in

(a) Adult Services – S38(1)(b) *
(b) Children and Families – S38(1)(b) *
(c) Criminal Justice 0

2) A breakdown of the agencies used, spend per agency, and the volume of
workers engaged from each

Adult Services Total Spend 2021 No of Workers
MacDonald McEwan Ltd £38,453.25 <5 *

* The Council has taken the decision to release into the public domain
name of agency user, total spend and number of workers. However, the
Council is unable to disclose figures that are less than 5 as this has the
potential to identify an individual. In addition, this means the Council
is unable to disclose the total for the same reason.
