Dear Mr Maguire

Further to the acknowledgement below, I can respond to your Freedom of
Information Act 2000 request received on 6 April 2022 as follows:

Your original request is found at the bottom of this email chain.

Response:

1)         What was the value of spend on temporary staff from recruitment
agencies by the Council in 2020 – 2021 and 2021 – 2022?

Please see attached.

Please also ensure that a gross spend value is detailed and include all
spend associated to any contract let for the management/provision of
temporary staff by a contracted provider (whether Vendor neutral or Master
vendor). Please ensure that all figures are provided separately by year.

2)         If you have a managed service provider (MSP) in place for the
provision of temporary agency staff, please provide the following;

a. How was the contract to manage/provide the supply of agency/temporary
staff let?

The Council advertised an open day for agencies to gain a better
understanding of our needs in relation to supplying temporary staff to
provide public services enabling an open and fair, transparent process.
Tenders were then sought from each supplier in line with our Public
Procurement Regulations.  This led to having 2 LOTs, Reed Agency was
awarded LOT 1 and then 3 agencies were awarded LOT 2 which provides our
more specialist, technical needs.

b. Who was the contract to manage/provide the supply of agency/temporary
staff let to?

LOT 1 is Reed Agency

LOT 2 is sourced via Hays, MatchTech and Opus.

c. When did the contract to manage / provide the supply of temporary
/agency staff commence, how long does it run for and what is the end date?

Commencement date: 1st September 2021.

End date: 3 years to 31st August 2024 with the option to extend for a
further 2 years
