Agency Spend by Schools

The request was partially successful.

Dear Sunderland City Council,

I would like a breakdown of how much each school in your LEA spent on Supply staff/agencies in the school year 2012/2013. I would like this broken down into primary and secondary as well as separate SEN schools and PRU's. And for each school, could you also give me a break down of how much they spent with each teaching agency and the names of the agencies?

Having this info in a spreadsheet would be most beneficial to me

Yours faithfully,

Olivier Bernard

Dear Nick Humphreys,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I would also like to see a breakdown of the schools spending. So how much they spent with different supply agencies.

Yours sincerely,

R

Dear R

Thank you for your query regarding our original response. Please accept my apologies for the protracted delay in responding; due to leave I was unable to contact the relevant teams to clarify the position until this week.

I can confirm that our original response stands i.e. we are unable to provide a detailed breakdown of each schools' spending with individual supply agencies within the Appropriate Fees limit. As we are reliant on schools inputting the data onto our SAP system, and there are substantial variations in recording practices across all schools, providing this information requires major manual analysis and cleansing of the data the schools submit.

While we have, despite it exceeding the £450 (2 1/2 working days) Fees Limit, in previous years endeavoured to provide this detailed breakdown by agencies against each school, we are regrettably no longer able to do so.

We can however provide a breakdown of individual schools' overall spend with agencies as required for Consistent Financial Reporting. Please see the attached spreadsheet 'FoI 13-07-73 Return 26-07-13.xls'

I hope this clarifies the position. As before, if you have any queries or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Nick Humphreys
