Dear Ms Rowley,

Thank you for your information request of 21 May 2020.  Aberdeen City
Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested. Our response is now detailed below.

1.       Please can you provide the recruitment agency spend on Social
Workers from April 2019 – March 2020.

During the period 29/4/2019 – 31st March 2020 - £69,397.57 has been spent
on agency fees for Social Workers In Adult Social Work. This figure
equates to salary and expenses.

We are unable to provide the recruitment agency spend on Children’s Social
Workers as the cost of providing it has been calculated as being in excess
of the statutory maximum (£600).  The amount spent on agency Children’s
Social Workers is not separated from the overall agency social work spend.
In order to extract this information, we would have to check the invoice
for each item of expenditure to find out if it stated whether it was for a
Children’s Social Worker or not. There are a total of 791 transactions
which will take 5 minutes per transaction to find the information.

This has been calculated a 5minutes  X 791transactions = 65.9Hours, at the
cost of £989 (65.9 X £15 per hour) in total.

In order to comply with our obligations under the terms of Section 16 of
the FOISA, we hereby give notice that we are refusing your request under
the terms of Section 12 - Excessive Cost of Compliance - of the FOISA.
