advocates devil Definition

The request was refused by Attorney General's Office.

Dear Attorney General’s Office, I see in the 2010 equality act that the term "advocates devil" is used many times, can you define what is meant by the term "advocates devil" and the word "devil" and why?
Thank you

Yours faithfully,

nethy

Correspondence, Attorney General's Office

Dear nethy,

I am writing in response to your email of the 19th of November, in which you have sought to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

The Freedom of Information Act (2000) gives individuals and organisations the right of access to all types of recorded information held, at the time the request is received, by public authorities such as the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

Unfortunately, as your request is not for recorded information, I must inform you that it does not constitute a valid request under the Freedom of Information Act.

You may be aware that the Attorney General is the principal legal advisor to government and, as such, is unable to offer any legal advice, assistance or support to individuals. Since the questions you have asked cannot be properly characterised as a Freedom of Information Act request and are actually seeking legal advice, I am afraid our office will be unable to assist you.

However, you may wish to view the following link for information from the Faculty of Advocates in Scotland:

Yours sincerely,

Massimo Magee
Freedom of Information Officer
