- Number of total applicants invited to interview, broken down by gender
- Number of applicants interviewed who were made an offer, broken down by gender
- Number of applicants who were accepted, broken down by gender

Please provide the data for the last 2 admission cycles.

Yours faithfully,

Dear IMPFOI,

I'm writing to remind you that this request has not been responded to in the time mandated by law in the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Section 10(1) of this act specifies that:

"Subject to subsections (2) and (3), a public authority must comply with section 1(1) promptly and in any event not later than the twentieth working day following the date of receipt."

Yours sincerely,

Mr Williams

Dear Mr Williams

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request. I apologise for the delay in responding to you.

Please find below the College's response to your questions.

"... information about undergraduate Computing

Please see the attached spreadsheet, showing the number of applications, interviews, offers made, and places confirmed, for the specified courses for the two most recent admissions cycles.

Figures for applications, offers and places confirmed are broken down by gender.

The total number of interviews is given, as the Computing department does not hold interview records by gender. To extract the gender breakdown of the figures it would be necessary to manually check each application. This would take in excess of 18 hours of work and is therefore exempt from disclosure under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. Section 12 states that “Section 1 (1) does not oblige a public authority to comply with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of complying with the request would exceed the appropriate limit (under the Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004).” The appropriate limit is set at 18 hours.

Figures of 5 or fewer, including zero, have been replaced by an asterisk. This is because individuals may otherwise be identifiable from the data provided. This information is therefore exempt from disclosure under Section 40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act, which states that "any information to which a request for information relates is also exempt information if - (a) it constitutes personal data."

I am obliged, under the Freedom of Information Act, to inform you of our complaints procedures in case you are unhappy about the way in which your request has been dealt with. If you wish to complain about this response, you should contact the College Secretary at the address below.
