Dear Imperial College London,
I request the information regarding the number of students admitted into ICL in the past even though they were unsuccessful in fulfilling the condition in their offer.

Moreover, I request an understanding of what is done in such a case? are there cases where they are still admitted?

Yours faithfully,
George

IMPFOI, Imperial College London

Dear George,

Thank you for your enquiry. Please note the following:

1. To be valid under the Freedom of Information Act, a request must fulfil the criteria set out in Section 8 of the Act, which includes the requester providing enough of their real name to give anyone reading that request a reasonable indication of their identity.

2. Your request is far too broad: the number of students admitted "in the past". In the past what, year, 10 years, 100 years?

Please see the information on the College website: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/help-ce...

IMPFOI, Imperial College London

Dear George Allen,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act request.

Imperial College is not able to extract from our systems the information
that you have requested. The only way we could assess whether an applicant
was admitted even though they had not met their offer conditions would be
to manually review the information held on each applicant, which would far
exceed the 18-hour limit for responding Freedom of Information Act
(Section 12).
Competition for places at Imperial College is very strong and as a result
a large number of our departments make offers above their minimum entry
requirements. Therefore, there are many applicants that do not meet
academic requirements of their offer but do meet the minimum entry
requirements of the department. Departments publish both their minimum
entry requirements and their typical offers on their course pages.

New entrants’ achieved grades are also published in our 5 year
transparency statistics. The published admissions information can be
accessed on the College
website: [1]http://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/ug/apply...
