Good morning,

“I am looking for information as to the provisions in the Stockport area
of housing for a person in a wheelchair who has to  have a fully adapted
home please. Also the number of people that is on a waiting list that you
have for such a home.”

In response to the above request, I have managed to obtain the relevant
information.

In answer to the second part of your request, on the waiting list we have
the following number of people waiting for an adapted property:

1 bed - 29 applications

2 bed - 18 applications

3 bed - 6 applications

4 bed - 1 application

Total 54

In answer to the first part of your request, it is not possible to easily
identify how many wheelchair accessible properties Stockport Homes has.
The definition of a wheelchair accessible property is one with 2 or more
major adaptations, and the definition of a major adaptation is one that
costs more than £500.  However, there are now a wide range of adaptations
(including fencing) that cost more than £500.

Therefore, as a rough guide only, we have identified 128 properties that
have 2 or more of the following adaptations:

·         Level access shower.

·         Ceiling track hoist.

·         Widened doors.

·         Through floor lift

Studio 2

2B 45
3B 41
4B 4
5B 1

I hope this information is useful.  However if you have any questions
regarding the response you have received please do not hesitate to contact
me using my contact details below.
