I am writing on behalf of the Peak and Northern Footpaths Society.
Can you please tell me the answers to the following questions:
1. How many incidents involving walkers being injured or killed by farm animals have been reported to the HSE each year over the last ten years? Please provide data on numbers of incidents resulting in injuries and deaths.
2. How many incidents involving walkers being threatened by farm animals, but resulting in no injuries, have been reported to the HSE each year over the last ten years?
3. How many prosecutions have been brought against farmers or landowners as a result of these incidents?
4. What measures have been put in place, if any, to ensure that farmers are (a) aware of HSE's published advice relating to farm animals in fields with rights of way and (b) comply with this advice?
5. What procedures are in place, if any, to enforce compliance with HSE's advice relating to farm animals in fields with rights of way?
6. What research, if any, has been conducted to investigate whether HSE's advice to walkers and farmers relating to farm animals in fields with rights of way is effective in reducing the risks to walkers on rights of way?
