Accident statistics Anchorsholme Lane
Dear Blackpool Borough Council,
After witnessing another accident at the junction of Anchorsholme Lane East and Kelso Avenue this evening I feel, as this has happened on numerous occasions, I must request you furnish me with information regarding all previous accidents at this junction.
I moved to Anchorsholme Lane East 6 years ago and telephoned highways to raise my concerns regarding the lights at this junction after just 6 months as I had witnessed 4 accidents within this time!! Since then this is a regular occurrence and whilst I appreciate the fault is driver error having to negotiate the tram tracks and the only give way sign being the white road markings on the ground I feel this needs to be addressed.
This is a dangerous junction which was created when the trams had right of way and many right turn junctions were blocked.
Please advise if I need to apply to the police for their attendance to such incidents before taking my concern further.
Yours faithfully,
Erica Woods
