Accessibility of council websites
Dear West Berkshire Council,
The following questions relate to the websites run by the council.
Can you tell me when was the last audit conducted and can I have results of that audit?
Also what steps is the council taking to make sure that websites are accessable by September 23 2020?
Yours faithfully,
Abdul Hai

Dear Mr Hai,
Request for information: Accessibility of council websites
Please see below the Council’s response to your request for information.
You have asked;
Can you tell me when was the last website audit conducted and can I have
results of that audit?
An audit of the ‘Management of the Council’s website content and
utilisation’ took place in November 2011. The results of this audit found
it to be ‘Satisfactory’.
The 2011 final report, the follow up memo and follow up action plan have
been attached.
Also what steps is the council taking to make sure that websites are
accessible by September 23 2020?
The Council have commissioned The Shaw Trust to review its websites and
produce a report highlighting any areas that need to be improved in order
to meet the EU Disability Directive.
You can read more about this here:
[1]https://www.digitalmarketplace.service.g...
The Council will be working with The Shaw Trust to resolve any
accessibility problems they find, by September 23 2020.
If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled or the
outcome of your request, you may ask for an internal review. You should
contact The FoI Reviewing Officer, Strategic Support, Council Offices,
Market Street, Newbury RG14 5LD, email [2][email address] , within 40
working days, if you wish to request a review.

decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:
