Access to PNC by ACPO Criminal Records Office

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am making a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I would like to know about access to the Police National Computer (PNC) records by ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO). Please would you provide the following information:

(a) electronic copies of any correspondence relating to the establishment of the ACRO 'service';

(b) what legal authority (including reference to the relevant legislation) does NPIA have to sell/provide PNC data to ACRO for resale;

(c) electronic copies of any submission to Ministers and subsequent approval for the purchase/resale of PNC data;

(d) what control does NPIA have over the charges levied by ACRO and the level of profit achieved.
