Dear Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy,

WIth regard to Markwells Wood -1, onshore oil well which is currently in the plugging and abandoning phase by UK Oil and Gas at Forestside, West Sussex.

1. Who will be responsible for the monitoring of the well post abandonment?
2. Who would be liable for any clean up/mitigation if there was
contamination due to well integrity failure, leaking or migration of
hydrocarbons from the bottom of the well post restoration at MW-1 and
after the end of the operators license term?
