A100 medicine selection process clarification and admissions statistics

The request is waiting for clarification. If you are Brandon Tillson, please sign in to send a follow up message.

Dear Queen Mary University of London,

This FOI concerns your A100 medicine course, standard entry. My questions relate to clarification of your selection process, UCAT and UCAS tariff data and special cases.

1. Selection process
a. I understand your GCSE requirements, but what is your equivalent for Scottish National 5s (number of subjects and grades)?

2. Data
a. Please could you provide the mean UCAS tariff of applicants accepted to interview, for 2017, 2018 and 2019 entry?
b. Like you have for 2017 [1] and 2019 [2], please could you provide the following for 2018 entry: high tariff supporting low UCAT; high UCAT supporting low tariff? I understand that you cannot give full statistics for each applicant [1] e.g. their lowest UCAT plus associated tariff, so providing similar data to what is on your website is a useful substitute.

3. Special cases:
a. Do you expect evidence of academic endeavour before commencing medical studies, with limitations on time out of work/study ie maximum of X years without study/work?
b. Do you consider applicants predicted below your entry requirements? If so, what are the minimum predicted grades you allow for A Levels?

Yours faithfully,

Brandon Tillson

Dear QM FOI Enquiries,

Yes, this is indeed the request I meant. To clarify, the other three emails are distinct to this request: these were essentially requests for the same information, but from different years.
Yours sincerely,

Brandon Tillson

Dear Queen Mary University of London,

I am requesting internal review in relation to delay. Please could you advise roughly when this request will be dealt with by? I know COVID is ongoing so if this is the reason for delay, please let me know and I will be happy to wait. However without an adequate response to this by 7 August 2020 I will be pursuing a complaint with the ICO

Yours faithfully,

Brandon Tillson

Dear QM FOI Enquiries,

I know you are dealing with FOIs, because I have just completed a separate FOI with you. Please can you respond to my correspondence? I have logged a complaint with the ICO.

Yours sincerely,

Brandon Tillson

Dear QM FOI Enquiries,

Thanks for this response. However I find it strange you do not have any Scottish entry requirements. Surely you must, otherwise how would Scottish applicants know if they are eligible to apply? Please can you look at this again and provide those requested in the initial FOI?

Yours sincerely,

Brandon Tillson
