A100 Medicine Interview Statistics

We're waiting for Karen Hill to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear University of Exeter,

I would like to request some information regarding the interviews conducted for the A100 medicine course. I would like to know, for 2019 entry, and also 2018 entry if possible (for Home students, applying with the UCAT/UKCAT, not including deferred entry from previous cycles):

1) the number of students offered an interview;
2) the individual anonymised UCAT/UKCAT scores of those made an offer and those rejected post interview;
3) the individual anonymised interview scores (out of 7) of those made an offer and those rejected post interview.

Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Karen Hill

Dear Information & Governance Mailbox,

Thank you for providing some of the data.

However, in your reply to my request the offer/no offer categories have not been separated, so only show the scores of all interviewees, regardless of outcome. I was requesting the data to be presented in the same style as it was in a previous FOI request for the 2017 cycle (reference number 2017152): a table cross comparing Interview score against whether an offer was made or whether they were rejected.
Could you please present the data for the 2018 & 2019 cycles (each cycle separately) in this way.

Regarding 2) - For the same request (2017152), in addition to the other data, you provided a spreadsheet comparing UKCAT scores (grouped to show number of applicants achieving each score) against whether an offer was made or they were rejected.
I understand the 2018 cycle was a small cohort, but as your number of places for 2019 was nearly double that of 2017, would you be able to provide the data for 2019, if not 2018? I’m looking for the data to be presented in exactly the same way as it was for request 2017152, as you were able to do this whilst still adhering to data protection. Many thanks.

Yours sincerely,

Karen Hill

Dear Karen,

Please find attached your internal review response and out complaints procedure.
As part of our preparation for the introduction of the GDPR we reviewed our FOIA disclosure process, focusing on personal data and anonymisation. In this particular case the data disclosed in 2017 was only anonimised by the removal of the Total column. Should another request be made seeking only the total the two data sets could be combined to reveal the previously anonimised figures. As part of our process review we have sought to mitigate this risk by instead disclosing totals rather than breakdowns of data in public disclosures.

Kind regards,

Information Governance Officer
