FOI/2019/357

6^th September 2019

Name:  Akram Sattar

By email to: [FOI #600828 email]

Dear Mr Sattar,

Thank you for your email of 1^st September requesting information
concerning A100 admissions.  Colleagues have provided the information you
requested below and in the attached spreadsheet.

Number of applicants for undergraduate medicine course (most recent data
or average)

There were 2443 applications for the A100 medicine course

Cut-off score for UKCAT

The cut off score for UKCAT was 2460 overall and we accepted SJT bands 1,
2and 3.

List of UKCAT scores of people selected for an interview

Please see the attached spreadsheet

How much is the UKCAT weighted as part of the whole application?

Please see our Departmental supplement on our website

Applicants who meet, or exceed, our basic minimum academic criteria will
progress to the second stage of the admissions process.  Non-graduates
applying to the A100 programme will need to sit UCAT. Applicants who
progress to the second stage of the process and who achieve the required
band in the SJT will be ranked according to their overall UCAT score
(Home/EU applicants must offer SJT bands 1 to 3, international applicants
can offer any of the 4 bands). Following ranking of the overall UCAT
scores, the top scoring applicants, will be invited to interview in the
third stage of the process. For Home/EU applicants a competitive score in
the 2017-18 admissions cycle was 2460; the score in 2018-19 was 2420. The
UCAT threshold for invitation to interview varies on an annual basis and
is dependent on the number of applicants who meet/exceed the minimum
academic criteria, their performance in the admissions test, and on the
number of interview slots that are available. For 2018 entry over 1800
Home/EU interviews were offered for the A100 programme.

If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request for
information, you have a right under Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act to ask the University to review it; however, you must do
so within 40 working days of the date of this response. Your request
should include our reference number and explain the reason for requesting
a review. Email [University of Liverpool request email] or write to the Freedom of Information
Reviewer, Legal & Compliance, University of Liverpool, Foundation
Building, 765 Brownlow Hill, Liverpool L69 7ZX.  We will respond to your
request for an internal review within 20 working days of receipt.

Following an internal review, if you remain dissatisfied with the handling
of your request, you have a right to appeal to the Information
Commissioner at The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House,
