Your request was received on 30 December 2022 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the 
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’). 
 
You asked: 
 
I would like to request the following admission statistics for the postgraduate MCL programme  
in the Faculty of Law from 2018-19 to 2022-23. 
- Total number of applications received and number of offers made each year. 
- The undergraduate institution they attended. 
- Whether or not an offer was made. 
- The class rank of the successful applicants for each year, as expressed through percentage of 
their batch size, that is, whether the applicants were in the top 5%, top 10%, top 15% of their 
cohort. 
 
Information to answer your first three bullet points is attached. Some suppression has been applied to 
prevent the risk of any individual being identified. In presenting the information in this way, the 
University is engaging the exemption at section 40(3A)(a) of the Act because the release of the raw 
data would breach the first data protection principle (the fair, lawful and transparent processing of 
personal data) as set out in the UK General Data Protection Regulation. This part of section 40 confers 
absolute exemption under the Act. Please note that the attached document should not be copied, 
reproduced or used except in accordance with the law of copyright. 
 
Information to answer your final bullet point is not held.
