You asked us: Please can you provide us with answers to the following questions:
1. Which agency / organisation / individual provides counselling / therapeutic
support to birth parents following adoption?
The regional adoption agency (Adoption Central England) provides an independent ring
fenced support service for birth parents and relatives who have had children placed for
adoption. The service provides both one to one support plus groups.
Warwickshire County Council Children and Families Service use Dr Tanya Garrett for
independent assessments, and Phoenix Psychology to provide therapy support.
2. What is the total amount of government funding provided to the Local
authority adoption team per annum?
Please note: Warwickshire County Council get no central government funding specific
