Thank you for your email which was received by the University on 04 September timed 17:48
hours requesting the following:
I am writing to kindly request the following information regarding admissions to
Undergraduate Dentistry (A200) in the following years; 2018, 2019 and 2020 and 2021 (if
available) for school leavers.
For each of the years can you clarify the number of applicants, number of applicants
called for interview, the number of offers made
Can you clarify how each of the elements of the selection process are weighted to
arrive at an offer of an interview GCSE results Predicted grades UCAT score personal
statement
The highest, lowest or threshold UCAT score for undergraduate applicants to Dentistry
A200 at the University of Glasgow, who were subsequently invited to interview for each
of the requested years.

Please note that the Dental School does not collect separate data for school leavers, therefore
the information provided below relates to all categories of applicants to the Undergraduate
Dentistry course (A200).
Data is not yet available for 2021 admissions as the Dental School wil have no intake and the
recruitment cycle is ongoing. The University of Glasgow does not hold the information that

The Dental School does not use weightings in its selection process. Applications are
screened in line with entry requirements. This information is currently accessible online from
the following locations:

Although the University of Glasgow does hold the information that you have requested, the
information is exempt under section 25 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, as
it is otherwise accessible.
Applicants who do not or cannot meet the criteria in the person specification wil not be given
further consideration. For candidates who meet the criteria in the person specification, the
UCAT score is used to select the required number of applicants for interview. The percentile
cut off for the UCAT score is determined on a yearly basis to allow the School to take forward
the required number of applicants to the interview stage. If an applicant is not asked to attend
interview, it is because their UCAT score was below the percentile cut off.

Commissioner.
