Information on consumer's bills
Dear Department of Energy and Climate Change,
In November 2010 Gregory Barker met with the Energy Retail Association to discuss, among other things, information on consumers' bills.
I would like to know what was discussed at this meeting. As a minimum, I would like to receive copies of any minutes kept and correspondence relating to the meeting.
Yours faithfully,
Andrew Montford

Dear Dave
Thank you for your response. Could you clarify two things for me:
1. Attachment 1 and attachment 3 appear to be approximately the same document. Could you please check that you have attached the correct docs.
2. I am very surprised that you do not hold any record of the meeting. Could you please clarify slightly - is the meaning of your response that no record was kept of the meeting or are you saying that a record was taken but that DECC no longer holds it.
Many thanks
Andrew Montford
Mr Mountford,
I am very happy to clarify.
1. Yes, attachments 1 and 3 are very similar, as they were two chains of overlapping and interlinked email messages.
2. To be clear, having searched our records and contacted those who attended this meeting we established that no record was kept.
Regards,
Dave Newton

Dear Dave,
I have queried this with an acquaintance who is retired senior civil servant. He is extremely surprised that no record of this kind of meeting was kept.
Would it be possible for you to double-check?
Many thanks,
Andrew Montford
