I wrote to you on 28 June regarding your request for information.   
 
Information requested 
 
You asked for a a copy of any correspondence between Welsh Government Ministers 
and officials and other relevant stakeholders regarding the potential backdating of 
COVID-19 business support to April 2021. 
 
Our Response 
 
I confirm that the Welsh Government does not hold any information caught by your 
request.  You may wish to note that our generous package of financial support for 
Welsh businesses continued throughout April and into May.  Many businesses 
received their full share of the funding announced in mid-March upfront to see them 
through until May, for others, including the hospitality and tourism sector, cash grants 
continued to be paid during April as applications were confirmed.  Therefore 
businesses saw no interruption in the flow of financial support, as we moved cautiously 
to relax public health restrictions.
