Dear Lorraine, Re: Request for Information – Freedom of Information Act 2000
I wish to confirm that the Adults & Communities Directorate has now completed
its search for the information which you requested by e-mail on 30 May 2021.
Your questions and my findings are below:-
Please can you advise on the following:
Do you offer a private landlord rent guarantee scheme or equivalent?
No this is not something we currently offer, we will pay bond and rent in advance
for certain customers through the homeless route but this is not a universal offer
and it is sometimes a loan through the Credit Union. We do however have a
leasing scheme available to landlords within the borough where the social
housing provider guarantees a monthly rent for a set period of time
What are the incentives?
No real incentive scheme in operation for Private landlords. The leasing scheme
offers a guaranteed monthly rent meaning no void periods or rent arrears and any
tenant damage is covered as part of the lease agreement
How many active landlords are signed up?
How long have you been operating this scheme?
Is there an end date for such scheme?
