Dear FOI
Thank you for the reply,
So if you don't, why do we have to contact you, when someone dies? to get a from BD8 and the green form?

the BD8 is a Certificate of Registration of Death - To inform the Department of Work and Pensions of the death.
the green form Certificate of burial or cremation - This must be handed to the funeral director to make arrangements for the funeral to take place.
may I point out the web page
https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/birth...
this the first point of contact where we register deaths, with you, it is not a district council level,

so to ask again

Dear Mr Harrison

Thank you for your request for information about registered deaths,
cremations and burials that have taken place in the Nottinghamshire County
Council (excluding Nottingham City ) area during the last six years, 2015
to 2020

Nottinghamshire County Council does not hold information about cremations
or burials, these are managed by the District and Borough Councils and so
you would need to contact them for any information regarding these.

With regard to death registrations,  Registration Officers, in carrying
out statutory registration duties, are outside the provisions of the
Freedom of Information Act.  Superintendent registrars and registrars are
not a public authority as defined in the Act and are not subject to its
provisions, and therefore data held by them is not subject to disclosure
under the FOI Act

You may find the records held by the Office of National Statistics which
are publicly available to be helpful in finding the numbers of registered
deaths.

Alternatively, The Registrations Act (the Births and Deaths Registration
Act 1953 and the Marriage Act 1949) provide a framework for applicants to
request information from the General Register office, GRO who can be
contacted using the following link:

I am sorry that we cannot be of more help to you with this request, though
I hope that you find this information to be useful.

If you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled,
then please email us at [Nottinghamshire County Council request email] quoting the reference
NCC-050694-21 and we will be happy to review your request

With kind regards
