Dear Ms Stewart,
Your request was received on 25 March 2021 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’).
You asked:
Could you please provide the following admission statistics for the year 2016-17, 2017-18,
2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 for MPhil in Innovation, Strategy, and Organisation at the
University of Cambridge?
1) Number of students who have applied
2) Median and mean score of both GRE and GMAT of successful and unsuccessful applicants
(shown separately)
3) Undergraduate grade (GPA) or degree class of successful and unsuccessful applicants
(shown separately)
4) Number of students who have been offered a place
5) Number of students who have accepted their offer
6) Median and mean score of both GRE and GMAT of successful applicants (those who have
been offered a place)
7) Universities from which successful applicants (those who have been offered a place) have
gained their undergraduate degree
8) Undergraduate grade (GPA) or degree class of those who have been offered a place
We do not hold information to answer questions 2 and 6. The other information is attached. The
University has not supplied the degree class/grade of each applicant/offer-holder because, coupled
with the other information, it believes that individuals could be identified as a result. In presenting the
information in this way, the University is engaging the exemption at section 40(3A)(a) of the Act
because release in the precise format requested would breach the first data protection principle (the

fair, lawful and transparent processing of personal data) as set out in the UK General Data Protection
Regulation. This part of section 40 confers absolute exemption under the Act.
