Dear M Livingstone

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.

I can confirm that the Open University partly holds the information which
constitutes information falling within the scope of your request.  Please
see below for the answers to your request which I have highlighted in
blue;

“1. Any application you made in 2019 or 2020 to be a “Stonewall Diversity
Champion” or to be included on Stonewall’s “Workplace Equality Index,”
including any attachments or appendices to those applications. Please
redact personal details if necessary.

The OU did not make an application in 2019 or 2020 to be a “Stonewall
Diversity Champion” or to be included on Stonewall’s “Workplace Equality
Index”.

2. Any feedback you received in 2019 or 2020 from Stonewall in relation to
either application or programme.

The OU does not hold this information as no applications were made in 2019
and 2020.

3. Any other communication you have received from Stonewall in 2019 or
2020 unless privileged or otherwise exempt from disclosure (but if you
claim privilege or exemption in relation to any material, please say in
broad terms what the material is and the basis on which you claim to be
entitled to withhold it).

Unfortunately further clarification is required in relation to this
question before the University can respond to it. The University submitted
no applications  to Stonewall in 2019 and 2020 but made an application in
2018 for the 2019 WEI index and does hold correspondence in 2019 and 2020
in relation to this application made in 2018 and a potential application
to be made in 2021. However this Freedom of Information enquiry as a whole
appears to be focused only on applications made in 2019 and 2020 so we
would be grateful for your confirmation that you are also requesting such
correspondence and communication relating to applications made out of this
time period but recorded in the years 2019 and 2020.

4. Full details of any equality impact assessment you carried out
connected with any of these applications (including any equality impact
assessment carried out prior to an earlier application of the same kind,
if no further assessment was done).

N/A

5. Details of the total amount of money you paid to Stonewall (i) in 2019;
(ii) in 2020, whether or not as payment for goods or services.

No money was paid to Stonewall in 2019 or 2020.

6. Whether you intend to continue your membership of any Stonewall scheme
in the future, and if so which.”

The University is exploring membership of Stonewall for 2021.

Please note that in reference to question 3, we will attempt to answer it
as soon as possible after we have received your clarification.  But as
prescribed by the Freedom of Information Act, a request under the Freedom
of Information Act is not valid unless there is sufficient detail
supplied  to enable identification and location of the information sought
(s. 1(3)  of the Freedom of Information Act 2000). This question will not
be processed further until we hear from you. If we do not hear from you
within 2 months from the date of this notification, we will assume you are
no longer interested in the processing of your request, and will close
your request file.

If you have any concerns about the way the University has observed the
provisions of the Freedom of Information Act you may apply for your
request to be reviewed.  Freedom of Information Reviews are considered by
the University Secretary or his delegate.  Your request must be submitted
within 40 working days of receipt of this letter/email. Reviews should be
addressed to the above inbox, entitled “FOIA Review”, and should set out
the reasons for the review.   You will have a further right of appeal to
the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Regards
