Dear Sir/ Madam
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA)
Request ID: REQ08107
Thank you for your request for information relating to Total costs of path installed in
Coundon Hall Park
Your request and our response is below:
Please could you provide the following information relating to a recently installed
path in Coundon Hall Park, which runs from the Waste Lane car park to the
Tamworth Road car park.
1. Total cost of the path.
£51,705 in different stages over several years.
2. Anticipated future costs for further landscaping and flood alleviation schemes?
It is impossible to gauge future costs as we do not know what work will be required.
3. Who funded the path?
Approximately £20,000 was met by funding from Severn Trent Water. The remainder
(Approx. £31,000) was met from S106 contributions relating to nearby housing
developments.
4. Was a survey carried out prior to installation of the path to identify areas of the
route that would be subject to waterlogging/flooding?
No, a survey was not carried out. We accepted that puddles may temporarily form in
places along the path in exceptionally wet conditions. Seasonal ponds were dug in
known wet areas to help avoid the worst of this and the footpath was raised slightly in
other areas where water was known to pool. The path was otherwise largely installed
along the existing levels but with a steep camber to help prevent any pooling water
remaining for long.
