Information about your dealings with Stonewall [Extraneous material removed]

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust,

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Please provide any information that you hold answering to any of the following descriptions:

2. Any feedback you received in 2019 or 2020 from Stonewall in relation to either application or programme.

3. Any other communication you have received from Stonewall in 2019 or 2020 unless privileged or otherwise exempt from disclosure (but if you claim privilege or exemption in relation to any material, please say in broad terms what the material is and the basis on which you claim to be entitled to withhold it).

4. Full details of any equality impact assessment you carried out connected with any of these applications (including any equality impact assessment carried out prior to an earlier application of the same kind, if no further assessment was done).

5. Details of the total amount of money you paid to Stonewall (i) in 2019; (ii) in 2020, whether or not as payment for goods or services.

6. Whether you intend to continue your membership of any Stonewall scheme in the future, and if so which.

Yours faithfully,

Ermine Amies

FOI AMB (Welsh Ambulance Service - Corporate Services), Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust

The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust is extremely busy at this time
dealing with the national pandemic emergency. As a consequence many of our
administrative and corporate staff have been redeployed on to front line
services.

Consequently, the Trust would appreciate your support in these challenging
times and respectfully ask that Freedom of Information requests are
delayed or withdrawn until such a time that services have returned to
normal. Therefore, the Trust will consider your request for information to
be withdrawn. Please resubmit your request in due course.

However, if you consider your request to be vital and of paramount
importance, please reply to this email confirming that you still want your
request to be processed. We cannot, however, guarantee that we will be
able to respond with the usual time frames.

Your understanding and support is very much appreciated.

Dear Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust,

Please process the request.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Jeff Prescott (Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust - 020),

Thank you for your response. My request asks for information that you hold answering to any of the following descriptions:

1. Any application you made in 2019 or 2020 to be a “Stonewall Diversity Champion” or to be included on Stonewall’s “Workplace Equality Index,” including any attachments or appendices to those applications. Please redact personal details if necessary.

You say "this information is not centrally recorded or collated. To retrieve the information requested would require a manual search through individual records and the Trust considers that this would exceed the limit set within regulations for responding to a request. The Trust has therefore relied upon the Section 12 exemption".

As noted in my original request, I direct your attention to your section 16 duty to provide me with advice and assistance.

The specific assistance I would like you to provide me with to help me to refine my request and make it possible for you to comply without incurring excessive costs is a list of the custodians (by job title; I do not need to know names) you believe to have been the recipients of such communications.

That, of course, does not exhaust your duty to provide me with advice and assistance: you should also turn your minds to any other ways in which you can help me to refine my request so that it captures a representative picture of your dealings with Stonewall without exceeding the appropriate limit.’

Yours sincerely,

Ermine Amies

S43 exemption claimed on costs. I have asked Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust to provide advice to me as they said cost of compliance exceeds appropriate limit.
