Coronavirus cases amongst school staff
Dear Doncaster Borough Council,
Please could you provide the rate of confirmed coronavirus cases amongst school staff for each week in November and December.
I would like you to split the figures into primary, secondary and special schools if possible.
In addition, I would like you to split them into staff category: teacher, teaching assistant, support staff and auxiliary staff if possible.
Yours faithfully,
Aisha Latif

Dear Ms Latif
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request dated 7^th January 2021
for information about confirmed coronavirus cases amongst school staff.
Please find below the Council’s responses to the questions you have
raised.
Questions
1. Please can you provide me the rate of confirmed coronavirus cases
amongst school staff for each week in November and December 2020 using the
following delineations?
a. Split figures based on school type: primary, secondary, or special.
b. Split figures based on staff category: teacher, teaching assistant,
support staff, and auxiliary staff.
i. Please provide the
information without delineations if it is not possible.
Response
Here are the best figures that we can get from the data we hold:
Primary Secondary Special
Date Teacher Other Teacher Other Teacher Other
03/11/2020 14 38 26 9 0 2
10/11/2020 19 29 18 7 0 2
17/11/2020 18 21 13 5 2 5
24/11/2020 19 23 10 4 3 15
01/12/2020 20 38 8 7 3 13
08/12/2020 15 31 14 7 0 8
15/12/2020 13 16 4 0 2 4
We have had to choose a particular date rather than “during the week”
because if we add up all the numbers for each of the 5 days then there
will be a lot of overlap and double counting. It is Tuesdays. We didn’t
break down the non-teacher roles so that includes all non-teaching staff
under “Other”. This is from the data that schools gave us, and we know
that not all schools completed the return so it is likely to underreport
the actual figures by 10–20%.
I hope that this information is useful to you.
Doncaster Council estimates that it has cost £25.00 to respond to this
request for information.
