I refer to your enquiry dated 26 October 2020 asking to be supplied with information under the
provisions of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (“the FOISA”) in relation to
admission to the A990 Canadian Programme for entry in 2017 through to 2020 inclusive.
You have asked to be supplied with data in excel format and the information held by the
University is being provided to you in full in the attached Appendix A as detailed below.
A)
The number of applications for the A990 course.
B)
The number of interviews offered for the A990 course.
C)
The number of offers made for the A990 course.
D)
The number of entrants for the A990 course.
Please refer to Table 1 in Appendix A which provides:
• Applications, interviews and offers to A990 Medicine split by year (Full Time
Equivalent)
E)
The lowest, average and highest UCAT score of an applicant invited for an interview.
F)
The lowest, average and highest UCAT score of an applicant offered a place to study
on the A990 course.
Please refer to Table 2 in Appendix A which provides:
• UKCAT scores for applications, interviews and offers to A990 Medicine split by year
(FTE)

• Applications to A990 from applicants who were not eligible for the A990 course due to
being neither Canada domiciled nor Canada nationals (FTE).
Your right to seek a review of how your information request was managed
If you are not satisfied with the University’s response and/or our reasoning set-out above, you
have the right to request a review of our decision. The timelines in which this right is available
are set out in section 20(5)(a) and (b) FOISA. In broad terms the right to seek a review must
be exercised within 40 working days of receiving this response.
The Information Assurance and Governance team are currently working remotely due to the
Coronavirus pandemic. Any request for review at this time should be sent by email to

andrews.ac.uk stating:
a) your name and address;
b) details of your original request; and
c) the reasons why you are dissatisfied with our response.
If you remain dissatisfied with how your request for information has been dealt with following
Review, you also have the right to apply to the Scottish Information Commissioner (SIC) for a
decision. In the event of an appeal to the SIC, the Commissioner will generally only be able
to investigate the matters raised in the request for review.
