Springfield's especially it's structure and special provisions for housing senior RAF command”

A search for the information has now been completed within the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and I

Under Section 16 of the Act (Advice and Assistance), you may find it helpful to know that
Springfields (Springfields Lodge) was handed back to Annington Homes Limited on 20 February

current archives only cover the past 10 years for Service Family Accommodation.
However, you may find it helpful to be aware that during the Second World War, Springfields was
home to Air Chief Marshall “Bomber” Harris and his family. The property had a number of security
features added to it, such as bomb-proofing and steel doors to the master bedroom. You may find
the documents attached at Annex’s A-C helpful in relation to your request.
