Dear Kent Police,

I’m requesting information on the seizure of 20 dogs on the 5th of February 2020. The dogs were imported by Second Chance Retriever Rescue, consigned to Tonew Kennels in Wales. As the circumstances of each animal imported amounts to a summary charge under Order 1974, I trust a prosecution would follow. Please can you confirm whether a prosecution will be sought in this case.

If data can not be provided on this particular case, please provide information on the number of canines seized on entry to the UK from Coquelles, on the 5th of February 2020.

Please also provide the number of these cases which have resulted in a prosecution.

 1. I’m requesting information on the seizure of 20 dogs on the 5th of
February 2020. The dogs were imported by Second Chance Retriever
Rescue, consigned to Tonew Kennels in Wales. As the circumstances of

Kent Police has a statutory requirement to respond in 20 working days,
therefore please reply and provide the information by 14^th May 2020 in
order that it can be reviewed, any exemption considered and a response to
the applicant drafted ready for release approval. FOI requests must be
dealt with promptly and the Chief Constable wants to ensure performance is
improved in this area. Should you delegate this task, please ensure the
response is provided no later than the date above.

 

Please advise:

 

 1. whether Kent Police holds the information requested;
 2. whether it is possible to retrieve the information within 18 hours of
dedicated work. Please contact the FOI office if you estimate the task
will take 18 hours or more (no available resource is not acceptable
under the legislation, however complexity in relation to obtaining the
data which exceeds 18 hours may well be);
 3. whether, in your view, it is appropriate to disclose the information
