Zebra Crossings

The request was successful.

Dear Cheshire West and Chester Council,

I am looking to find out the locations of Zebra crossings in Cheshire West and Chester Council. Please can you provide me with the following information:

1) A list of all the pedestrian zebra crossings within Cheshire West and Chester Council boundaries.

2) Information on how many Belisha beacons on each crossing point.

3) The above would ideally include the use of the Geo-coordinate system information of each site, but also the street name and location.

The information will be used to provide a complete map of the District to aid in the navigation of Cheshire West and Chester Council for pedestrians.

Yours faithfully,

John Kariuki

Dear John Kariuki,

Thank you for your request for information of 16^th December 2019 which
has been logged as RFI 2035.

Your request meets the definition of environmental information and has
therefore been answered under the Environmental Information Regulations
2004.

For the purposes of clarity your request is reproduced below with
responses;

Please find attached spreadsheet with information relating to the FOI
request. As we record each lighting asset rather than individual crossing
the information provided will relate to this.

1) A list of all the pedestrian zebra crossings within Cheshire West and
Chester Council boundaries

Sheet 1 on attached Excel spreadsheet, Column F lists the road name and
Column D gives the location. As previously mentioned we do not hold the
number of crossings however Sheet 2 gives an estimated number of crossings
within Cheshire West and Chester.

2) Information on how many Belisha beacons on each crossing point.

We do not hold this information but can estimate the number of Belisha
Beacons at each crossing as 2 however there are instances where a crossing
has 4 lighting units, these figures would be multiplied by the number of
crossings listed on the spreadsheet. Each site would require inspection to
determine the exact number of beacons.

3) The above would ideally include the use of the Geo-coordinate system
information of each site, but also the street name and location.

Highways use their own mapping system. The coordinates used are on Sheet 1
column A + B. Column F also has the site code
