AIR CADET TRAINING ORDER
TRAINING ORDER NO 1
RAF AIR CADET PROGRESSIVE SYLLABUS OF TRAINING
INTRODUCTION
1.
The RAF Air Cadet syllabus of training provides:
a.
World-class opportunities to both young people and volunteers.
b.
Real value to individuals, cadets and staff, personally, socially,
academically, and professionally.
c.
A progressive programme, which is enjoyable, exciting, challenging,
stimulating, and achievable.
d.
Opportunities to gain recognized qualifications.
3.
Annex A is ATC Cadet Progressive Syllabus of Training. This chart contains
an outline of the cadet classifications syllabus and all the progressive training
subjects. Each of these have their own ACTOs, instructions or guidance, refer to
them for further information.
PERIOD OF TRAINING
4.
Most of the RAF Air Cadet Experience relates to a progression from one stage
to another, a period of time, or age. This provides for the management of cadet
expectations and the proper planning of training programmes.
5.
The Blue Badges are available from the moment a cadet joins the ATC and
undertaken in any order, and before they reach First Class Cadet.
6.
The recommendation is that Leading Cadet should take a minimum of 18
months. Whilst the complete Classification Training Syllabus should take about 3
years for a cadet to achieve, with a minimum age of 15 to reach Master Air Cadet,
those cadets who are late starters can be exempt from these conditions, on the
authority of their OC Wg.
INFORMATION ON THE REVISED SYLLABUS 7.
A Blue Badge Logbook contains the requirements for all the Blue Badges. See
ACTO 28 for details
.
8.
Posters, leaflets and other media are available.
