Level of minimal restraint training conducted for all staff within the Trust

The request was partially successful.

Dear South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

I am a Clinical Practice Educator with the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust and am enrolled on a research module for the top-up BSc with LJMU. My research involves the levels of minimal restraint (or proportional response) training conducted within the UK Ambulance Services.

I would be grateful if you could supply me with information pertaining to the following:

1. Current training undertaken by the Trust and by which training provider (or e-learning).
2. Understanding and/or acceptance of staff regarding the necessity for the training under current guidelines.
3. Any statistics relating to the application of restraint activity (positive or negative).

Many thanks in anticipation of your support in my studies.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Shaw
