Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Information Request
Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act which was received
on 28 November 2019. I can confirm that we hold part of the information you have requested. You
asked the following questions, reproduced in bold
I am a Clinical Practice Educator with the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust and
am enrolled on a research module for the top-up BSc with LJMU. My research involves
the levels of minimal restraint (or proportional response) training conducted within the
UK Ambulance Services.
I would be grateful if you could supply me with information pertaining to the fol owing:
1. Current training undertaken by the Trust and by which training provider (or e-
None at present however this subject is scheduled for the Trust Statutory and Mandatory
training face to face for April 2020, to be delivered to all frontline staff.
2. Understanding and/or acceptance of staff regarding the necessity for the training
under current guidelines.
Please refer to Q1 and that this will form part of the Trust education package.
3. Any statistics relating to the application of restraint activity (positive or negative).
