Dear Joseph,
Freedom of Information Request - RFI20191902
Thank you for your request to the BBC of 27 November 2019 seeking the following
information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’):
“Could you please supply webpage hits for the sports section. Could you break down into
gender categories for each sport. So total hits for male football pages and the same for
womens football, could you duplicate this for major lists as detailed in your drop down menu. I
am writing a paper on how we can increase awareness of female sport and would like to see
the current disparity between the interest in the men’s/ women’s press articles.”
Under section 14(2) of the Act, we are not required to respond to repeat requests. The
Information Commissioner’s guidance with respect to repeat requests states that where a
public authority has previously complied with a request for information, it is not obliged to
comply with a subsequent identical or substantially similar request from that person.
Appeal Rights
If you are not satisfied that we have complied with the Act in responding to your request, you
have the right to an internal review by a BBC senior manager or legal adviser. Please contact
us at the address above, explaining what you would like us to review and including your
reference number. A request for an internal review must be made within 40 working days of
receiving the BBC’s response to your original request.
If you are not satisfied with the internal review, you can appeal to the Information
Commissioner. The contact details are: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House,
