a) The number of complaints made against the Firearms Licensing Department, its officers or staff members.
b) The reason for the complaints.
c) Any disciplinary action taken against the officers or staff members.

It is with regret that I have to inform you that the 20 working day deadline (21/05/2019) under section 10 of The Freedom of Information Act in respect of this request has not been met, due to difficulties in retrieving and collating the relevant requested information or delays in the FOI process.

I write in connection with your request for information dated the 18^th
April 2019 and received in the FOI Unit on the same date regarding
firearms licensing complaints.

 

This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

 

Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 places two duties on
public authorities. Unless exemptions apply, the first duty at Section
1(1) (a) is to confirm or deny whether the information specified in a
request is held. The second duty at Section 1(1) (b) is to disclose
information that has been confirmed as being held.

 

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information you have
requested. However we are withholding all of the information since we
consider that the following exemption applies:

 

Section 40(2) Personal information

 

Where exemptions are relied upon section 17 of FOIA requires that we
provide the applicant with a notice which:

 

a) States that fact

b) Specifies the exemption(s) in question and

c) State (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption
applies
